Vehicular movement restored at Assam-Nagaland gate, Dimapur after ILP stand off

Dimapur, March 01 (NE): Inner Line Permit (ILP) at Dimapur creates stand-off and confusion at Assam-Nagaland gate, Dimapur on Sunday, March 1, 2020.

The stand-off started after the Dimapur Police picked up around Seventy ILP defaulters from Assam side. Followed this, larger number of people from Assam side of the Assam-Nagaland gate at Dimapur, protested by blocking all the vehicular movement bearing Nagaland registration from entering Assam.

According to an information received here, to apply and get ILP is a time taking process and for that, enough time must be provided for the outsiders, these are the demands made by the protesters.

As per official sources, the matter has been sorted out, and the vehicular movements are restored. But not convinced of what may happen from next day onwards or so, when Dimapur Police act again on ILP defaulters from this region.

Given that, the Government of Nagaland must come out with more time including other necessary steps, so as an amicable solution for every one will take place, echoed various citizens from the Assam side of the border gate at Dimapur. More details are awaited while filing this report.
