Union Home Minister Amit Shah tests positive for COVID-19

Kohima, August 02 (NEx): The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah tested positive for COVID-19, informed a tweet from the Home Minister on Sunday afternoon.

Taking to twitter, Home Minister said, ‘On getting the initial symptoms of corona, I got the test done, and the report came back positive.

My health is fine, I am being admitted to hospital on the advice of doctors. I request all who have come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get your test done’ – Shah tweets.

India reports 54,735 new COVID positive cases:

India reported 54,735 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours,
taking the total number of confirmed cases to 17,50,723. Death toll rises to 37,364 with 853 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, said the Union Health Ministry data, on Sunday, August 02, 2020.

Meanwhile, 51,255 more patients recovered from COVID-19 in India, taking the total recovered number to 1,145,629. Active cases in the country now stands at 567,730, said an update from Union Health Ministry today.
