Dimapur, February 11 (NE): Tune up Channel from Nagaland bagged the 3rd position with a cash prize of Rupees Fifty Thousand during the Northeast Multimedia Campaign 2020 at Imphal : Manipur on February Six.
All the eight states of North East India participated during the campaign to raise awareness on HIV/AIDs through music as a medium. It was organized under NACO, a Government of India organization for HIV/AIDs issues in all India basis.
As per a notification, Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) successfully hosted the Grand Finale of 2nd North East Multimedia Campaign under the title ‘North East United Against HIV/AIDS’, on February Six at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre, Imphal, Manipur.
Multi-Media Campaign is a special package provided exclusively by National AIDS Control Organization, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI, for the states of North East since 2009. Under this package special activities are conducted in all North Eastern States to promote awareness, compassion, education and support towards HIV and AIDS. Under the concept of Grand Finale, intra-state competitions are held in each state and then the winning musical bands from all the eight North East States compete at a common platform.
The winners of the Grand Finale of this edition’s North East Multimedia Campaign are: 1st- ‘Innocent Eyes’ from Manipur, 2nd- ‘Larger than 90’ from Meghalaya & 3rd- ‘Tune up Channel’ from Nagaland. These winners bagged the prize money worth Rs. 1,00,000, 70,000 and 50,000, respectively. All the other participating teams were also awarded with a consolation prize-money of Rs. 30,000 each. The event marked presence of more than 3,000 participants from civil society organizations, members from government hospitals, community members, defence personnels, students from schools and colleges, volunteers from NYKS, PLHIV representatives from NGOs and officials from different government departments.
