Kohima, June 11 (NE): Tuensang fights the good fight against COVID-19 and tagged once again as a COVID-19 free district, as all five (5) positive patients who were undergoing treatment at COVID-19 District Hospital Tuensang has been tested negative for COVID-19.

A press release issued by Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of district task force COVID-19, Tuensang, Ramnikant Kumar, IAS said that reports of five COVID-19 positive cases, returnees from Chennai who were admitted in COVID-19 District Hospital Tuensang being tested negative for COVID-19 was received from Chief Medical Officer, Tuensang.

Subsequent actions are being taken as per SOP. With all five positive cases tested negative Tuensang district has no COVID-19 positive cases now, stated DC Tuensang.

Tuensang reported it’s first case on May 27, 2020, subsequently 4 more returnees were also tested positive for COVID-19 in Tuensang. All 5 cases of COVID-19 in Tuensang were among the returnees of Chennai, who reached Nagaland on May 22, 2020.
