Sumi Region NSWON affirms their stand for the Naga National rights

Kohima, October 28 (NEx): The National Socialist Women Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) Sumi region organized a consultative meeting at Hotel Saramati on October 27, 2020 and adopted resolutions on the Indo-Naga political talks for political solution and affirmed their stand for the Naga National rights to the end.

A press release from the NSWON Sumi region said that Ino Hutovi Chishi Swu, Convener, steering committee NSCN and Ino Kihoi Swu, Convener, Ceasefire Monitoring Cell were the guest speakers.

*The house fully endorsed the August 3rd, 2015 Framework Agreement signed between the government of India NSCN representing the Naga people whereby the sovereign rights of the Nagas were recognized.

*The recognition of the Unique History of the Nagas, the acknowledgement of the universal principle of democracy that sovereignty lies with the people, the shared sovereignty and peaceful co-existence of the two entities, unequivocally states the components of the Naga Flag and Constitution as an integral part of solution.

*In the course of the Indo-Naga conflict of several decades, more than 3,50,000 Nagas laid down their lives for the sacred cause of the Nagas. Nagas across the land and breadth of Nagalim have equally borne the heavy and untold sufferings and humiliations. The lalien aggression on our land and people have resulted to hundreds and thousands of widows and orphans, Sumi community not an exception.

Further, the NSWON said that it is unfortunate on the part of some groups of our people who are preparing for some sale out arrangement for financial package and under Indian Constitution in exchange of the Historical and the Political Rights of the Nagas. Affirming their stand for the Naga National rights to the end, the organization condemned such groups for their irresponsible act.
