Special Train started from Jaipur in Rajasthan; 261 stranded citizens of Nagaland on board

Kohima, May 26 (NE): The government of Nagaland continue to evacuate stranded people across the country amidst the nationwide lockdown. A special train arranged by the government started today from Jaipur, Rajasthan, which is bound for Jiribam, Manipur.

A total of 261 stranded citizens of Nagaland is also on board along with other Northeast citizens. They will be de-boarded at Lumding railway station on May 28, 2020.

The Principal Director School education and Nodal Officer for stranded persons outside the state, Shanavas C, IAS, informed that the train has already started from Jaipur and it is expected to reach Lumding railway station at 7:45 am on May 28, 2020, where 261 Stranded Citizens of Nagaland will be de-boarded.

From Lumding, they will be transported to Dimapur by a special bus arranged by the government of Nagaland, he added.

Yesterday, May 25, 2020, over 390 stranded citizens of Nagaland from Haryana, arrived at Dimapur railway station in the special Shramik train arranged by Haryana government.

On May, 22, 2020, a total of 1289 stranded citizens of Nagaland from Chennai, Tamil Nadu reached Nagaland in the Special Shramik Train which started from Chennai Central railway station on May 19, 2020.

Meanwhile, 4 returnees from Chennai have been tested positive for COVID-19 and are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Dimapur and Chedema, Kohima respectively.
