Dimapur, January 9 (NE): The present Deputy Speaker-cum-MLA from Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) is likely to be the new Speaker for Nagaland legislative Assembly (NLA) after the demise of late Shri Vikho-O Yhoshu as the then Speaker of NLA from NDPP.

An information recieved exclusively to NagalandExpress, the source informed that the candidate will be finalized very soon – though the name of Shri Sharingain Longkumer is doing the rounds. “He is very much perfect for the said post, though newly elected as MLA. He must be given the chance to handle every one there,” quipped the source in condition of anonymity.

Sharingain won the by-election as a candidate of the NDPP on 2019 from 26th Aonglenden Area Constituency under Mokokchung district.

There are currently two by-elections to be held for Nagaland Legislative Assembly after the demise of Shri. Vikho-o Yhoshu, candidate of NDPP from 14th Southern Angami-I Area constituency, Kohima and Shri T. Torechu, candidate of NPF from 60th Pungro – Kiphire Area constituency.
