Dimapur, July 18 (NEx): One State Bank of India (SBI) officer tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati on Friday, July 17, 2020. The officer was working in SBI Dimapur Bazar Branch and was transferred to Guwahati.
According to Chief Manager, SBI Bazar Branch, the SBI officer was recently transferred to Guwahati, hence he left on July 12, 2020, through a hired vehicle from Dimapur. On arrival at Guwahati, he was placed under quarantine and tested negative for COVID-19 in the rapid test on July 14, 2020. But the confirmatory swap test result was said to be positive on July 17, 2020.
Since all the staff members at SBI Bazar Branch were recently in contact with the officer who tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati, as a precautionary measure and also to prevent the spread of the virus, Chief Manager has informed the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur to conduct the COVID-19 test for all the SBI staffs at Dimapur Bazar Branch, and their family members as per protocol.
