Kohima, October 24 (NEx): Nagaland reported 79 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 24, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 8515, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today.
Among the new cases detected, 44 cases were detected in Dimapur, 23 in Kohima, 05 in Tuensang, 04 in Zunheboto, 02 in Mon and 01 in Kiphire, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1815.
79 +ve cases of #COVID-19 detected today.
Dimapur- 44, Kohima- 23, Tuensang- 5, Zunheboto- 4, Mon- 2, Kiphire- 1.
Also, 98 +ve patients have recovered.
Dimapur- 82, Kohima- 12, Mon – 4.

Also, the state reported 98 recoveries from COVID-19 today, out of which, 82 patients recovered from Dimapur, 12 from Kohima and 04 from Mon, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 6598.
Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 34 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel/security personnel, 02 returnees and 42 traced contacts and 01 frontline workers were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3771 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 45% of the total tally, 1631 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, 2713 are traced contacts which is 29% of total cases and 400 are front line workers which is at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1727 active cases are asymptomatic and among the symptomatic, 66 active cases are mild, 16 cases are moderate on oxygen and 02 severe on oxygen, while 04 patients are in critical condition in ICU on ventilator.
So far, the State has reported twenty four (24) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not COVID-19 related and two (2) death cases are under investigation while 70 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
