Nagaland man succumbed to COVID-19 in New Delhi on May 13

Dimapur, May 15 (NE): A 38 year old man who hails from Moayimti Village under Mokokchung District in Nagaland succumbed to COVID-19 in New Delhi on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

According to a report received here, he was serving in 1st Assam Regiment and was undergoing Cancer treatment at Army’s premier Research and Referral Hospital, New Delhi since 2009.

He got infected with the COVID-19 virus through a cancer patient who was admitted to the oncology ward. 25 people in the same oncology ward has tested positive for COVID-19, which include 21 serving jawans, one veteran and three dependents, said a report on May 05, 2020.

He is the first Naga who succumbed to COVID-19. The deceased was cremated in New Delhi as per Standard Operating Protocol.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Many has condoled the untimely demise of the person.
