Patient from Dimapur tested positive for Covid-19 in Guwahati

Dimapur, April 13 (NE): A patient referred from a private hospital in Dimapur, Nagaland has tested positive for Covid-19 at Guwahati, on Sunday, April 12, 2020, informed the Health Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Assam Health Minister tweet reads out – ‘A private hospital in Dimapur, Nagaland referred a patient to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital after he was found with symptoms of Covid-19. He has tested positive and is undergoing treatment at Gauhati’ – unquote.

This development came a day after the State Government informs about the functioning of government offices in Nagaland with skeletal staff from Monday, April 13, 2020.

With the fresh Covid-19 report, the total number of positive cases in the Northeastern India rose to 36, out of which, 29 from Assam, two each from Manipur and Tripura, and one each from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland reported.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old woman who tested positive for Covid-19 in Manipur last month, has recovered and discharged from the hospital on Sunday.

One Covid-19 positive patient died in Assam on April 10.

There is no official statement from the government of Nagaland until the time of filing this report, more details are awaited.
