Kohima, October 18 (NEx): The Naga Students Federation (NSF) & Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) suspended the indefinite state-wide bandh on all NL-10 and NL-11 registered vehicles, as the State government on Sunday, met the demands of the students’ unions in regards to SSA-RMSA teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches.
A joint press statement issued by the NSF & ENSF on Sunday late evening, stated that the State government has met the demands of the students unions to mainstream the SSA-RMSA teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches within 18 months without any other conditions.
The indefinite state-wide bandh began on October 12, 2020, later on that day, due to the untimely demise of (Late) Eno. C M Chang, Hon’ble Minister, Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Justice & Law, Govt.of Nagaland, as a mark of respect for the departed leader the officials of the two federations unanimously decided to keep the agitation in abeyance till October 18, 2020.
This development came at the last minute as the two federations have scheduled to resume indefinite bandh from tomorrow, October 19, 2020 morning 06:00 am.
In light of the assurance from the Government, the students federations announced the suspending of indefinite state-wide bandh on all NL-10 and NL-11 registered vehicles.
The two Federations appreciated the leaders of the federating units and sub-ordinate bodies and entire Naga populace who stood with the students throughout the journey for a cause that is just and fair.
