Kohima, October 23 (NEx): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) strongly and vehemently condemned the brutal murder of a class X student of Liz Woodland School, Lingrijan, whose bludgeoned body was found in the playground at the premises of St. Clare Higher Secondary School on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
The federation in a letter expressed shock that the life of a young and innocent student was nibbed in the bud by the evil actions of the criminals and that too within the premise of an educational institution. The federation is deeply disturbed that the commission of such a heinous crime are starting to steep into our Naga society, it said.
The NSF appealed the police and investigating authority to leave no stone unturned and ensure that the perpetrators of such a crime with unimaginable cruelty is brought to justice without any delay whatsoever.
The DNSU in a press release condemning the barbaric act upon one of its students, stated that such inhuman act is unacceptable in our peaceful society and that the Union will never tolerate such act towards it’s students’ community. It also appealed the authorities for a thorough investigation and trial to be conducted and reward befitting punishment to the culprit (s) involved.
The Union further urged the citizens to abstain from circulating identity of the victim and images of any incident in social media unless done by the competent authorities for the interest of the victim or for public consumption.
Meanwhile, Dimapur police in a tweet on Thursday informed that one male accused has been arrested in connection with the murder case.
