NPF demands NIA investigation on ‘Rs 30 cr to ClHSR for makeshift COVID-19 Hospital’

Naga People’s Front Legislature Party (NPFLP) demanded National Investigation Agency (NIA) enquiry into Rs 30 crore allocated to ClHSR for 176-bedded makeshift COVID-19 Hospital

Kohima, June 03 (NEx): The Naga People’s Front Legislature Party (NPFLP) through the office of the Governor of Nagaland demanded National Investigation Agency (NIA) enquiry into Rs 30 crore allocated to ClHSR for 176-bedded makeshift COVID-19 Hospital.

NPFLP spokesperson, Imkong L Imchen, in a press statement on Thursday, stated that the allocation of Rs.30 crores to ClHSR which is a private health institution is another Oligarchic action of the PDA government. According to Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao, the Principal Director H&FW in his clarification stated that the 176-bedded hospital at CIHSR would be a “Makeshift COVID-19 Hospital,” NPFLP stated.

NPFLP said that the ‘makeshift hospitals are usually tentage and such a hospital costing to the tune of Rs. 30 crores is happening yet again only in Nagaland under the present government dispensation. The NPF Legislature Party further demanded through the office of the Hon’ble Governor for a thorough NIA investigation on this. The whole process of this construction is flawed and fishy as there was no flouting of tender in any form, it stated.

The NPFLP stated that all the districts in the State has the District Task Force on COVID-19, which has been established for COVID related purposes, but so far no fund allocations were made to these bodies worth mentioning. All the District Hospitals, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres and Sub Centres are painfully neglected, whereas these are the Nodal/Primary bodies who are actually Frontline workers fighting this COVID pandemic, it stated.

The NPFLP alleged that there is ‘no proper manpower deployment in these areas except the high sounding nomenclatures such as Expert Panel, High Powered Committee, State Disaster Management Authority, War-Room etc. making only unnecessary noises in local medias. Whereas the COVID-19 case load is increasing day by day without any decline, it added.

‘Hospitals are sealed, Offices are sealed and State is under lockdown without proper logical arrangement. In short, the government of the day is not functioning for all practical purposes. Perhaps, Offices of the Finance department, Treasury & Accounts and Banking institutions are not sealed, reason is obvious for all to understand,’ the NPF stated.

Under this condition, the NPF Legislature Party is duty bound to seek the benevolent intervention of the Governor of Nagaland so that the poor people of Nagaland do not succumb to fatalities of Covid-19, said the press statement.
