1. Additional land required for Ciethu Airport: DC informs on land acquisition

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kohima, Shri Gregory Thejawelie has informed that additional land measuring 368.5201 Acres at Ciethu, Ciechama under Kohima district is required for acquisition/ outright purchase for Ciethu, Ciechama Airport.
The DC stated that if any person/party having any claim or objection over the said area may submit the same to the Office of Deputy Commissioner Kohima till 24th of next month (March).

2. North East Sustainable Development Goals Conclave 2020 concludes in Guwahati

The 3-day North East Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Conclave 2020 concluded in Guwahati yesterday, which was organized by NITI Aayog. Technical sessions were held on ‘Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’, ‘Communication, Connectivity and Infrastructure Development, ‘Addressing Inequality and Exclusion in the North East’, the ‘Way Forward and Valedictory’.

The Conclave was held with the goal of identifying solutions as well as accelerators for the implementation of SDGs in the North Eastern Region. In terms of SDG localisation, the states in the region have taken major strides in integrating the Agenda 2030 framework in their developmental planning and vision documents. The sessions saw active participation of Chief Secretaries, Additional Chief Secretaries and other senior officials from all 8 North Eastern states including Nagaland Government among others, as well as the central government, academia, civil society organisations, think tanks and financial institutions.

3. SJU conducts one day seminar on Future & Applications of Mathematics

A press release by St Joseph University (SJU), Dimapur on February Twenty Seven, said that the Department of Mathematics, St. Joseph University, Dimapur, Nagaland organized one day seminar on Future & Applications of Mathematics. The program started with inauguration function at 9.30 am which was graced by Dr. J. Robert Edwin Chester, Registrar of the said University. There were two resources persons: Dr. Manoj Kumar Patel, A.P, National Institute of Technology, Nagaland and Dr. Sandip Ratna, A.P, State College of Teacher Education, Kohima. The program was concluded by Dr. P. Mercy, Head of Department of Mathematics with a vote of thanks.

4. Training program of NSS officers on Ethics and Values for Public Governance at ATI, Kohima

Human Resource Consultant, Trainer and Coach, Shri Kiran Gandhi today on February Twenty Seven said that leadership starts with knowing oneself at a deeper level. Speaking at the training program of NSS officers on Ethics and Values for Public Governance at Administrative Training Institute in Kohima, Kiran informed the program aims at reconciliation, different values and developing a shared perspective for a fair and just society.

Commissioner and Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Shri Dinesh Kumar, IAS in his keynote address emphasized on the importance of parental guidance in imparting the values of Ethics to a child. Speaking on ‘Challenges and Opportunities’, Shri Niketu Iralu said the way bureaucracy handled its daily challenges and opportunities is consequential to the future of the society.

5. One unidentified non-local male run over by an unidentified Truck at Army Supply Road, Dimapur

A press release by Dimapur Police, on February Twenty Seven, said that one unidentified non-local male was run over by an unidentified Truck at Army Supply Road, Dimapur, today. The dead body was shifted to District Civil Hospital morgue for Post Mortem examination and identification.

Claimant / relatives / friends of the deceased are hereby requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, SBN Police Station, Dimapur.

6. Update on COVID 19: New Travel Advisory

In view of the evolving situation related to COVID-19 being reported from other countries, besides the travel advisories already issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, following additional directions are issued:

-Indians are advised to refrain from non-essential travel to Republic of Korea, Iran and Italy.

-People coming from Republic of Korea, Iran and Italy or having such travel history since 10th February 2020 may be quarantined for 14 days on arrival to India.

7. Training and awareness on Robotic and artificial intelligence held in Kiphire

Nagaland Science & Technology Council in coordination with Innovation Hub Nagaland Science Centre Dimapur, Department of Science & Technology & District Education office, Kiphire, held training and awareness on Robotic & Artificial intelligence on February 27, 2020 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire under the theme “catch them young”.

Training and awareness programme was conducted from class 7 to 12 from both private and Government Schools within Kiphire district. During the training students were shown various science experiments.
