Kohima, July 20 (NEx): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) welcomed the resolution of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Legislature Party to join the PDA government, calling for unity amongst the members of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
The senior functionaries headed by the President and the Legislators headed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister convened an emergency meeting at the Party Central Office in Dimapur on July 20th, 2021 to discuss and deliberate over the latest political developments in the State.
The NDPP welcoming the resolution of the NPF Legislature Party, after sharing the letter from the NPF Legislature Party addressed to the CM and a copy of the resolution with the house, decided to consult their alliance partner- the BJP before taking the matter forward, since PDA is a coalition Government.
The house reiterated its commitment to continue working towards bringing a final settlement to the Naga issue and further appeals for unity amongst all sections of the people especially all the Naga National Political Groups.
It further appeals to all negotiating parties and the Government of India to bring about an early solution to the protracted Naga issue that is inclusive, honourable and acceptable to the people.
The NDPP also reiterated its commitment to their pre-poll partners and said that it will continue to honour all commitments both past and present.
On Monday, the NPF which is the main opposition party, decided to join PDA government during the party’s Legislators meeting held at the residence of Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister, TR Zeliang in Dimapur.
