Nagaland govt. to disinfect public transport, buses plying via Assam to avoid stoppage in Assam

Kohima, March 13 (NE): Nagaland Government, through the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation, Railways and Land Resources has issued additional precautionary measures to combat COVID-19 pandemic, today, March 13, 2020.

Hon’ble Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation, Railways and Land Resources, Shri. P. Paiwang Konyak issues additional precautionary measures to the transport department to spray disinfectant to public transport and an advisory order to be issued for buses plying via Assam to various districts of Nagaland to avoid stoppage in Assam.

The additional precautionary measures issued by the Minister P. Paiwang Konyak, reads out- “In the wake of general public being gripped by fear and apprehension of COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in the country, the Government of Nagaland is deeply concerned regarding the outbursts of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the department of Health & Family Welfare has been put on high alert to take precautionary measures to prevent the infection and spread of the Novel Corona Virus in the state by issuing advisories, awareness campaign and setting up transitory quarantine points.

In view of this, the Minister has advised the concern department to spray disinfectant to public Transport i.e State Helicopters, buses and taxies covering all districts in the state as a precautionary exercise, and also to issue advisory order for buses plying via Assam to various districts of Nagaland to avoid stoppage in Assam as a precautionary exercise” – unquote.
