Nagaland reports highest single-day spike of 130 cases; State tally at 1823, informed Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today, August 01, 2020

Kohima, August 01 (NEx): Nagaland reported its highest single-day spike of 130 COVID positive cases today, August 01, 2020, taking the State tally to 1823, updated by Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom at 12:41 pm.

As the number of COVID positive cases surged rapidly, the recovery rate in the State has now dropped to 34%.

Taking to twitter, Pangnyu Phom updated that, out of 552 samples tested, 130 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed.

Among the new COVID-19 confirmed positive cases, 109 cases are in Dimapur and 21 in Kohima district. Contact tracing are fully activated for safety – updates the Health Minister, today.

With 130 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 1823 today. Among the confirmed cases, 635 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and the active cases in the state now stands at 1182. The state has reported the death of 6 COVID patients. Among this one COVID positive patient death of is not due to COVID-19, and another deceased had Co-morbidities and is under investigation.

Among the 1182 active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland, 640 patients are undergoing treatment at Dimapur, 368 at Kohima, 109 at Mon, 22 at Peren, 4 at Tuensang, 13 at Phek and 11 at Mokokchung, 8 at Zunheboto and 7 at Wokha district.

Kiphire district in Nagaland is the only COVID-19 free district with zero cases reported till today. Meanwhile, Longleng district has also become COVID-19 free district as all three positive patients recovered from COVID-19.
