Nagaland reports 87 new COVID positive cases & 128 recoveries on August 12, 2020, updated the COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland

Kohima, August 12 (NEx): Nagaland reported 87 new COVID-19 positive cases and 128 COVID-19 recoveries today, August 12, 2020, updates Nagaland COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by Dr. Denis Hangsing, Additional Director, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland.

Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom, in his tweet updated that, out of 614 samples tested, 87 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed.

Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation – updated the Health Minister.

Among the 87 new COVID-19 positive cases confirmed, 48 cases are in Dimapur, 35 in Kohima, 3 in Zunheboto and 1 in Wokha district.

Out of 87 new postive cases reported today, 42 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 19 returnees, 23 traced contacts and 3 frontline workers, informed the State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H&FW.

With 87 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 3118 today. Out of this, 1427 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is over 45.7% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 203 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic.

According to COVID-19 daily bulletin, a total of 1113 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Nagaland which includes the 128 recoveries reported today, August 12, 2020.

The State has reported eight (8) deaths of COVID positive patient. Among that, one COVID positive patient’s death is not due to COVID-19, the patient had co-morbidities, informed the COVID-19 bulletin.

Dimapur district stands on top of the table for highest number of active COVID-19 positive cases in the State with 1237 cases, followed by Kohima with 548 cases, Mon – 111, Zunheboto – 60, Peren – 15, Wokha – 8, Mokokchung – 6, Phek- 3, and Tuensang – 2.
