Kohima, August 14 (NEx): Nagaland reported 154 new COVID-19 positive cases and 59 COVID-19 recoveries today, August 14, 2020, updates Nagaland COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by Dr. Denis Hangsing, Additional Director, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland.
Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom, in his tweet updated that, out of 831 samples tested, 154 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed.
Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation – updated the Health Minister.
Among the 154 new COVID-19 positive cases confirmed, 84 cases are in Kohima, 54 in Dimapur, 10 in Zunheboto, 1 each in Wokha and Mon district.
Out of 154 new postive cases reported today, 21 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 40 returnees, 86 traced contacts and 7 frontline workers, informed the State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H&FW.
With 154 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 3322 today. Out of this, 1468 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is over 44% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 210 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic.
According to COVID-19 daily bulletin, a total of 1198 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Nagaland, this includes the 59 recoveries reported on Friday, August 14, 2020.
The State has reported eight (8) deaths of COVID positive patient. Among that, one COVID positive patient’s death is not due to COVID-19, the patient had co-morbidities, informed the COVID-19 bulletin.
