Kohima, October 01 (NEx): Nagaland reported 81 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 01, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 6244, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom. Among the new cases detected, 57 cases are in Dimapur, 20 in Kohima, 02 in Mokokchung and 01 each in Longleng & Mon, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1078.

Also, the state reported 74 recoveries of COVID-19 patients, out of which, 40 patients recovered from Dimapur, 32 from Kohima and 01 each from Peren & Mon, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 5094.

Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 44 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 04 returnees, 29 traced contacts and 04 front line workers were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin by the department of Health and Family Welfare.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 2974 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 48% of the total tally, 1501 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 24%, 1423 are traced contacts which is 23% of total cases and 346 front line workers which sums at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1044 active cases are asymptomatic, 32 active cases are mild and 02 cases are moderate.

So far, the State has reported twelve (12) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Five (5) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not due to COVID-19 and five (5) death cases are under investigation while 50 COVID-19 positive patients migrated from the State, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
