Nagaland records 53 new COVID positive cases & 85 recoveries on October 14

Kohima, October 14 (NEx): Nagaland reported 53 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 14, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 7416, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom. Among the new cases detected, 10 cases were detected in Dimapur, 25 in Kohima, 14 in Mon, 02 cases in Peren and 01 each in Tuensang and Zunheboto, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1473.

Also, the state reported 85 recoveries from COVID-19 today, out of which, 80 patients recovered from Kohima, 03 from Dimapur and 02 from Peren, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 5855.

Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 14 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 03 returnees and 35 traced contacts and 01 frontline worker were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3378 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 46% of the total tally, 1567 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, 2098 are traced contacts which is 28% of total cases and 373 front line workers which sums at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1420 active cases are asymptomatic and among the symptomatic, 39 active cases are mild, 10 cases are moderate on oxygen, 01 patient is severe on oxygen, 01 is in critical condition in ICU with oxygen and 02 are in critical condition in ICU on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported seventeen (17) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Five (5) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not COVID-19 related and five (5) death cases are under investigation while 61 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
