Kohima, October 07 (NEx): Nagaland reported 53 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 07, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 6715, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom. Among the new cases detected, 37 cases were detected from Dimapur, 08 from Kohima, 06 from Peren and 01 each from Mokokchung & Phek, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1194.

Also, the state reported that 36 patients of COVID-19 were discharged today, out of which, 28 patients recovered in Dimapur, 04 in Kohima, 02 in Zunheboto and 01 each in Mon & Wokha, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 5444.
Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 11 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 05 returnees, 33 traced contacts and 04 front line workers were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin by the department of Health and Family Welfare.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3153 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 47% of the total tally, 1535 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 23%, 1666 are traced contacts which is 25% of total cases and 361 front line workers which sums at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1143 active cases are asymptomatic, 41 active cases mild, 06 cases moderate, 01 patient is severe and 02 patients are critical in ICU with oxygen and 02 patients are in ventilator.
So far, the State has reported twelve (12) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Five (5) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not due to COVID-19 and six (6) death cases are under investigation while 54 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
