Nagaland records 43 COVID positive cases & 111 recoveries on September 17, 2020

Kohima, September 17 (NEx): Nagaland reported 43 new COVID-19 positive cases today, September 17, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 5306, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today. Active cases stands at 1193.

Taking to Twitter, Pangnyu updated that 43 new COVID-19 positive cases has been confirmed in the State out of 421 sample results received today. Among the new cases detected, 24 cases are in Dimapur, 18 in Kohima & 1 in Mon, informed Pangnyu.

Health minister also informed of 111 recoveries among the COVID- positive patients, 80 are from Dimapur, 30 from Kohima & 1 from Zunheboto. Total recovery tally stands at 3968.

The Principal Secretary, Home, GoN, while briefing on COVID-19, updated segregated data of COVID-19 positive cases reported in Nagaland till date. Out of the total 5306 postive cases reported in the State, 2484 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 1421 returnees, 1079 traced contacts and 322 front line workers were tested positive for COVID-19, it said.

With 43 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 5306 today. Out of this, 2484 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 47% of the total tally. As per the severity of symptoms, 1163 active cases are asymptomatic, 27 active cases are mild and 02 are moderate.

So far, the State has reported ten (10) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Out of this Five (5) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not due to COVID-19 and one (1) death case is under investigation. 19 COVID patients have migrated from Nagaland state, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
