Kohima, October 08 (NEx): Nagaland reported 21 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 08, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 6736, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom. Among the new cases detected, 17 cases were detected from Kohima, 02 from Dimapur and 01 each from Peren & Mon, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1149.
21 +ve cases of #COVID-19 detected today.
Kohima- 17, Dimapur- 2, Peren & Mon- 1 each.
Also, 66 patients have been discharged.
Kohima- 59, Dimapur- 7.

Also, the state reported 66 patients of COVID-19 discharged today, out of which, 59 patients recovered in Kohima and 07 in Dimapur, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 5510.
Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 1 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 05 returnees and 15 traced contacts were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin by the department of Health and Family Welfare.
Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3154 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 47% of the total tally, 1540 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 23%, 1681 are traced contacts which is 25% of total cases and 361 front line workers which sums at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1096 active cases are asymptomatic, 40 active cases mild, 10 cases moderate, 01 patient is severe and 02 patients are critical in ICU on ventilator.
So far, the State has reported twelve (12) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Five (5) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not due to COVID-19 and six (6) death cases are under investigation while 54 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
