Nagaland records 140 COVID positive cases & 101 recoveries on October 23

Kohima, October 23 (NEx): Nagaland reported 140 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 23, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 8436, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom today.

Among the new cases detected, 118 cases were detected in Dimapur, 16 in Kohima, 02 each in Zubheboto & Mokokchung and 01 each in Wokha & Tuensang, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1837.

Also, the state reported 101 recoveries from COVID-19 today, out of which, 52 patients recovered from Kohima, 46 from Dimapur and 03 from Longleng, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 6500.

Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 38 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel/security personnel, 04 returnees and 96 traced contacts and 02 frontline workers were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3737 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 45% of the total tally, 1629 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, 2671 are traced contacts which is 29% of total cases and 399 are front line workers which is at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1754 active cases are asymptomatic and among the symptomatic, 59 active cases are mild, 17 cases are moderate on oxygen and 04 severe on oxygen, while 03 patients are in critical condition in ICU on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported twenty one (22) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not COVID-19 related and one (1) death case is under investigation while 70 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
