Nagaland records 118 new COVID positive cases & 65 recoveries on October 18

Nagaland reported 118 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 18, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 7816, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom

Kohima, October 18 (NEx): Nagaland reported 118 new COVID-19 positive cases today, October 18, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 7816, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom. Among the new cases detected, 93 cases were detected in Dimapur, 13 in Kohima, 09 in Mon and 03 in Peren, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1582.

Also, the state reported 65 recoveries from COVID-19 today, out of which, 43 patients recovered from Kohima, 21 from and 01 from Longleng, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 6141.

Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 41 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel/security personnel, 04 returnees and 69 traced contacts and 04 frontline workers were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3477 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 45% of the total tally, 1601 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, 2353 are traced contacts which is 29% of total cases and 385 front line workers at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1522 active cases are asymptomatic and among the symptomatic, 41 active cases are mild, 11 cases are moderate on oxygen and 05 severe on oxygen, 02 patients are in critical condition in ICU with oxygen and 01 patient is in critical condition in ICU on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported twenty one (21) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not COVID-19 related and one (1) death case is under investigation while 65 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
