Nagaland modifies SOP for returnees: 28 days mandatory quarantine

Nagaland Government modifies Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) to returnees, 28 days mandatory quarantine - including 14 days mandatory Institutional quarantine and 14 days mandatory home quarantine

Kohima, May 18 (NE): Government of Nagaland modifies the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) for persons entering the state from today, May 18, 2020 to undergo 28 days mandatory quarantine, which includes, first 14 days at designated institutional quarantine and 14 days home quarantine.

An order issued by Chief Secretary, GoN, Temjen Toy, IAS today, May 18, said that all persons entering the state from May 18 onwards, irrespective of place of origin of journey shall undergo mandatory 14 days Institutional quarantine at the designated centres and thereafter 14 days mandatory home quarantine.

‘In respect of persons above the age of 60 years, children below the age of 10 years and parents, pregnant women and accompanying spouse, they shall be thoroughly screened and on the advice of the medical team at the quarantine centre, be sent for mandatory Home quarantine for 28 days with active surveillance’, it added.

This modified SOP will not apply to persons who have already entered the state before May 18, 2020 from Orange / Green Zone and have not crossed Red zone en-route to the State, said the order.

It also said that this order is in partial modification of the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) for persons entering the state issued on May 14, 2020. All other provisions of the SOP dated May 14, 2020 shall continue to be in effect.
