Nagaland likely to receive 'Thunderstorm and Heavy Rainfall' for 2 days, says India Meteorological Department

Kohima, May 24 (NEx): The weather forecast bulletin by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, India Meteorological Department, Ministry Of Earth Sciences forecasts heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places over Nagaland, and other Northeast states on May 25th & 26th, 2021.

IMD bulletin forecasts Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms with Lightning at isolated places over Nagaland on May 25 and May 26, 2021 alongwith other places including Northeastern states; Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

IMD also forecasts Thunderstorm with Lightning at isolated places over Nagaland on May 27 and May 28, 2021 alongwith other places including Northeastern states; Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Cyclone “Yaas” to make landfall on May 26; IMD

The government of West Bengal and Odisha are on high alert for the very severe cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ heading their way from the Bay of Bengal and likely to make landfall late on May 26, 2021.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday that the cyclone is likely to make landfall on May 26 evening between Paradip in Odisha and Sagar islands in West Bengal after intensifying into a very severe cyclonic storm’ with wind speed ranging from 155-165 kmph, gusting to 185 kmph. It will start bringing heavy rain in coastal areas from Tuesday, IMD forecasts.
