Kohima, September 23 (NEx): Nagaland Government decided to revoke COVID-19 cess on Petroleum products, which was imposed in the State since April 28, 2020. The decision was taken during the State cabinet meeting held today.
Earlier on April 28, 2020 Nagaland Government has imposed COVID-19 cess of Rupees 5 per litre on diesel and Rupees 6 per litre on Petrol & other motor spirits across the State due to the outbreak of the pandemic situation.
Meanwhile, a press release from Finance Department, Government of Nagaland updated the details of funds received from the Central Government for COVID-19, amount spent by the State government from its own resources to fight the pandemic and the amount collected as COVID-19 cess.
The total amount received from Government of India for COVID-19 is Rs. 27.84 crore. Total amount spent from State’s resources for COVID-19 pandemic till date accumulated to Rs. 115.80 crore. The total amount collected through COVID-19 cess from April to August 2020 is Rs. 13.14 crore, it updated. COVID cess collection during the month of September is not updated in the release.
