Nagaland Governor, Deputy CM, Leader of Opposition condole the demise of former Governor

Kohima, October 08 (NEx): Alongwith the rest of the nation, Nagaland also condoles the demise of its 17th Governor, Shri Ashwani Kumar, who was found dead at his residence in Shimla on Wednesday, October 07, 2020.

Former CBI director and Himachal Pradesh DGP Ashwani Kumar served as the 17th Governor of Nagaland for a period of 15 months from March 21, 2013 to June 27, 2014.

Nagaland Governor, R.N Ravi, Deputy CM Y Patton, Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang, Ministers, Advisors, Government officials, civil societies alongwith others expressed shock at the demise of Ashwani Kumar and conveyed condolences to the family.

Nagaland Governor, R.N Ravi expressed shock at the tragic passing away of Shri Ashwani kumar. Raj Bhavan Kohima in a tweet said, ‘Ashwani Kumar was a thorough professional and an excellent human being. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences and prayers are with the family’.

Deputy CM Y Patton said, former Governor of Nagaland and CBI Director Shri Ashwani Kumar was a remarkable man! The news of his death has come as a shock to all of us and words fail me at this moment. My heartfelt condolences to his family at this hour of grief. May his soul rest in peace! Deputy CM tweets.

Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister, TR Zeliang in a tweet said, ‘Deeply shocked to learn about the demise of former Governor of Nagaland Sh. Ashwani Kumar. A learned man who reached the pinnacle of his service and served as the CBI Director. Sincere condolences to his near and dear ones. May he Rest in Peace.’ – unquote.
