Kohima, May 22 (NE): Finally, a sigh of relief for the distressed / stranded citizens of Nagaland in other States in the Country who opt to stay back where they are at present, as the government of Nagaland extended Rs 10,000 one-time financial assistance to all the citizens.
A notification from Nagaland Chief Minister’s office shared on the details to avail this one-time financial assistance to all the distressed/stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the State.
Citizens can register to avail this one-time assistance through the official website for stranded citizens, iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in.
The Application form will open for three days from May 23, 2020, 10:00 am to May 26, 2020, 10:00 am.
Citizens who have already availed this benefit are not eligible to re-apply. Those who opt to avail this benefit will not be eligible for government arranged transport to return back to the state, said the notification.
Documents required for the application are:
*Documents issued by the Government of Nagaland in applicant’s Name.
*Bank pass book or bank statement
*ID card issued by the Government of India in applicant’s Name.
*For students, ID card issued by Institution, and for patients, medical documents issued by hospital.
It is also informed that fraudulent practices to avail this benefit will be strictly dealt with under relevant sections of law.
Earlier, the government opened the application form of one-time financial assistance of Rs 10,000, from May 13 to May 16, 2020, only to stranded citizens who submitted returnees form but opt to stay back at their respective places. Now it is opened for all the citizens of Nagaland who opt to stay back at their present places.
Nagaland Government had received 18,255 returnees applications from stranded citizens of Nagaland from different parts of the country, out of which a total of 4095 stranded citizens have applied for the one-time assistance of Rs 10,000.
As on Friday, May 22, 3086 persons have been paid Rs 10,000 each, amounting to Rs 3.8 crore in total, said a notification from the government of Nagaland.
