Nagaland COVID-19 tally surpasses 8000-mark with 67 new cases on October 20

Kohima, October 20 (NEx): Nagaland COVID-19 tally surpasses 8000-mark with 67 new cases today, October 20, 2020, taking the total count in the state to 8020, updated Health Minister Pangnyu Phom. Among the new cases detected, 38 cases were detected in Dimapur, 13 in Kohima, 11 in Tuensang and 05 in Mon, updated Pangnyu. Active cases stands at 1657.

Also, the state reported 60 recoveries from COVID-19 today, out of which, 27 patients recovered from Tuensang, 07 from Dimapur and 13 each from Kohima & Mon, updated the Health Minister. Total recovery tally stands at 6267.

Out of the new positive cases reported in the State today, 31 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel/security personnel, 06 returnees and 25 traced contacts and 05 frontline workers were tested positive for COVID-19, updated the daily COVID bulletin.

Out of the total positive cases in the state, 3567 positive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 45% of the total tally, 1613 cases are returnees/travellers accounting to 21%, 2448 are traced contacts which is 29% of total cases and 392 front line workers at 05%. As per the severity of symptoms, 1576 active cases are asymptomatic and among the symptomatic, 62 active cases are mild, 13 cases are moderate on oxygen and 03 severe on oxygen and 03 patients are in critical condition in ICU on ventilator.

So far, the State has reported twenty one (22) deaths of COVID-19 patients. Six (6) deaths of COVID-19 patients are not COVID-19 related and one (1) death case is under investigation while 67 cases of COVID-19 are migrated, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
