Nagaland COVID-19 recovery rate at 83.7% & active cases reduces to 657

Kohima, September 06 (NEx): Nagaland reported 50 new COVID-19 positive cases and 77 recoveries of COVID-19 patients today, September 06, 2020. Total number of confirmed positive cases in the State rises to 4178. With 83.7% recovery rate in the State, number of active cases stand at 657.

Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom updated that 50 new COVID-19 positive cases has been confirmed in the State today. Among the new cases detected, 42 cases are in Dimapur, 7 in Kohima and 1 in Mon district.

Contact tracing have been activated by IDSP Team & all primary contacts are kept under self isolation, tweets Pangnyu.

According to COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, out of the new 50 cases reported, 41 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 03 returnees, 05 traced contacts and 01 frontline worker were tested positive for COVID-19, it said.

With 50 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 4178 today. Out of this, 1786 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 43% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 308 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic. As per the severity of symptoms, 646 active cases are asymptomatic and 10 active cases are mild.

Meanwhile, Nagaland Health Minister also informed of 77 recoveries of COVID-19 Patients in Nagaland on Sunday. Among that, 76 patients are in Dimapur, and 1 in Kohima district.

However, all recovered patients will be kept under strict surveillance – Pangnyu tweets. Total recovery tally stands at 3501.

So far, the State has reported eight (8) deaths due to COVID-19. Two deaths of COVID-19 patient is not due to COVID-19 and 10 COVID-19 positive cases migrated, and 5 deaths in Dimapur are under investigation, informed the COVID-19 bulletin today.
