Kohima, August 03 (NEx): Nagaland COVID-19 positive tally surpasses 2000-mark as the State reported its highest single-day spike of 194 new COVID cases today, August 03, 2020, taking the State tally to 2129, updated Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom at 03:00 pm.
Taking to twitter, Pangnyu Phom updated that, out of 845 samples tested, 194 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed.
Among the new COVID-19 confirmed positive cases, 136 cases are in Dimapur, 36 in Zunheboto and 22 in Kohima district.
Necessary contacts tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation – updates the Health Minister, today.

With 194 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 2129 today. Among the confirmed cases, 648 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and 2 patients migrated. The state has reported the death of 6 COVID patients. Among this, one death is not due to COVID-19, and another deceased had co-morbidities and is under investigation, as per the COVID-19 bulletin on August 02, 2020.
Among the 1473 active COVID-19 cases in Nagaland, 845 patients are undergoing treatment at Dimapur, 395 at Kohima, 110 at Mon, 21 at Peren, 4 at Tuensang, 14 at Phek and 11 at Mokokchung, 61 at Zunheboto and 12 at Wokha district.
Kiphire district in Nagaland is the only COVID-19 free district with zero case reported till today. Meanwhile, Longleng district has also become COVID-19 free district, as all three positive patients recovered from COVID-19.
