Kohima, September 01 (NEx): Nagaland COVID-19 cases tally surpass the 4000-mark with 53 new COVID-19 positive cases today, September 01, 2020, taking the total tally to 4003. Active cases stands at 794.
Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom via Twitter updated about 53 new COVID-19 positive cases detected in the State out of 674 samples results received today. Among the new cases detected, 31 cases are in Kohima, 13 in Mon, and 9 in Dimapur district – Pangnyu tweets.
Meanwhile, 133 COVID-19 positive patients recovered in Nagaland today. Out of this, 77 parents are in Dimapur, 51 in Kohima, 3 in Mon & 2 in Tuensang, Pangnyu updates. The number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Nagaland rises to 3191.
Out of 674 results received, 53 +ve cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed.

The State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H&FW issued segregated data of COVID-19 positive cases reported in Nagaland on September 01, 2020. Out of the new 53 cases reported, 11 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 08 returnees, 29 traced contacts and 5 frontline workers were tested positive for COVID-19, it said.
With 53 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 4003 today. Out of this, 1703 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 42% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 288 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic.
So far, the State has reported eight (8) deaths due to COVID-19. One death of COVID-19 patient is not due to COVID-19, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department. 9 COVID-19 patients migrated from the State.
