Nagaland COVID-19 case tally surpasses 3000-mark with 230 new cases today, August 10, 2020

Kohima, August 10 (NEx): Nagaland COVID cases tally surpasses 3000-mark with 230 new positive cases today, August 10, 2020, taking the tally to 3011, updates Nagaland COVID-19 daily bulletin issued by Dr. Denis Hangsing, Additional Director, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland.

Nagaland Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom, in his tweet updated that, out of 828 samples tested, 230 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed.

Necessary contact tracing have been activated and all primary contacts are under self isolation – updated the Health Minister.

Among the 230 new COVID-19 positive cases confirmed, 104 cases are in Dimapur, 104 in Kohima, 8 in Mon and 4 in Peren district.

Out of 230 new postive cases reported today, 146 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 22 returnees, 60 traced contacts and 2 frontline workers, informed the State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H&FW.

With 93 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 3011 today. Out of this, 1372 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is over 45% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 198 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic.

According to COVID-19 daily bulletin, a total of 973 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in Nagaland, this includes the 69 recoveries reported on Monday, August 10, 2020.

The State has reported eight (8) deaths of COVID positive patient. Among that, one COVID positive patient’s death is not due to COVID-19, the patient had co-morbidities, informed the COVID-19 bulletin.
