Kohima, September 02 (NEx): Nagaland reported 14 new COVID-19 positive cases today, September 02, 2020 taking the total tally to 4017. Active cases stands at 785.
Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom updated that 14 new COVID-19 positive cases has been confirmed in the State out of 768 samples results received today. Among the new cases detected, 7 cases are in Dimapur, 5 in Kohima and 1 each in Mokokchung & Tuensang, informed Pangnyu.

The State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, H&FW issued segregated data of COVID-19 positive cases reported in Nagaland on September 02, 2020. Out of the new 14 cases reported, 05 positive cases are among Armed Force personnel, 04 returnees, 02 traced contacts and 03 frontline workers were tested positive for COVID-19, it said.
With 14 new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland rises to 4017 today. Out of this, 1708 postive cases are among the Armed Force personnel, which is around 42.5% of the total tally. Meanwhile, 291 frontline workers in Nagaland also tested COVID positive while fighting against the pandemic. As per the severity of symptoms, 779 active cases are asymptomatic and 6 active cases are mild. Also, a total of 1,138 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
Meanwhile, the report also informed of 22 recoveries among the COVID- positive patients, 04 patients are from Dimapur, 15 from Kohima, 1 each from Peren, Wokha & Zunheboto. Total recovery tally stands at 3213.
So far, the State has reported eight (8) deaths due to COVID-19. One death of COVID-19 patient is not due to COVID-19, 3 deaths in Dimapur are under investigation, informed Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department.
