Kohima, January 28 (NEx): The Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland, Temjen Toy, IAS passed away this afternoon at his residence in Kohima after a prolonged illness.
Temjen Toy from Changki village under Mokokchung district, a 1989 batch IAS Nagaland cadre, took charge as Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland on March 2018. He was 57 years when he breathed his last at his residence in Kohima, and is survived by his wife and four children.
Nagaland Governor, R.N Ravi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy CM Y Patton, Leader of Opposition TR Zeliang, State cabinet Ministers, Advisors, Government officials, Students bodies, along with others expressed shock and pain to learn about the demise of Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary of Nagaland.
Governor R.N Ravi in his condolence message said, ‘Extremely sad and shocked to know that Shri Temjen Toy is no more with us. We lost an able administrator and one of the finest human being! May his soul rest in peace. May God give strength to family to bear with this devastating tragedy.’
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio condoles saying,’ I am extremely saddened at the passing away of Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary of Nagaland. He was a humble, upright and dedicated government servant. His death is a huge loss for the Govt. of Nagaland & for the Nagas as a whole. Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul RIP’.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton in a tweet said, ‘An irreparable loss! The news of the untimely demise of Shri Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary, Nagaland has shocked and shattered us all. This is a very unfortunate day for us. We’ve lost an absolute gem. My deepest condolences to his family and dear ones. May his soul rest in peace!’.
The Leader of Opposition, and former Chief Minister, TR Zeliang said,’ Deeply grieved to learn the untimely demise of Temjen Toy IAS, Chief Secretary of Nagaland. A humble & hardworking officer who served sincerely. A jolly gentleman, it was always a pleasure working together. Huge loss for the people of Nagaland. My deepest condolences.’
