Nagaland; 6 new COVID-19 positive cases reported in 24 hours, June 2: Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom updates

Kohima, June 02 (NE): Nagaland reported six (6) New COVID-19 positive cases today, June 02, 2020 taking the total count in the state to 49. All new cases reported are among the returnees from Chennai.

All the six new cases reported today are from Dimapur, informed the Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom this morning.

Taking to twitter Health Minister, Pangnyu said, ‘Out of 90 samples tested from Chennai returnees, 5 Male & 1 Female has tested COVID-19 +ve. All cases are from Dimapur.’

Among the overall 49 cases in the State, 31 COVID-19 positive cases reported from Dimapur, 13 from Kohima and 05 from Tuensang.

All the COVID-19 cases reported in the state so far, are imported, from among the stranded citizens of Nagaland who returned from Chennai in a Shramik special train on May 22, 2020.

As of June 01, 2020, a total of 2782 samples have collected for testing, out of this, 1789 test results have received and 993 samples results are awaited.
