Music, drama, drawing – an activity packed protest that sends out loud message of ‘Nagaland Against CAA’

Kohima, January 18 (NE): Nagas have scripted history today. What started in a social media group had grown spontaneously and it has hit the streets of Dimapur, today with people from across the sections along with students in large numbers to make their voices heard loud and clear through a peaceful protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Scorching sunlight, hectic traffic and dusts in Dimapur could not stop the spirit of the young Nagas who came in large numbers, specially students in their respective college or school uniforms to show their support against the CAA. Speeches from various social organisations and student leaders, music, drama, painting, etc, is being organized as part of the protest which is currently underway at Supermarket area, Dimapur. The event started around 10 am and will continue till 4 pm today, informed the organising committee.

Various Dimapur based business committees also joined the protest today at Supermarket area and expressed their solidarity and they provided tea freely to all the people who came for the protest.

Students were drawing and writing posters at the protest location while the protest was carried out which is another highlight of the protest. Perhaps, lots of activities are taken up at the protest to let all sections of people know and highlight the message loud and clear that Nagaland is Against CAA.

Some of the placards reads- Hello India, welcome to Nazi Era, Nagaland Says No to CAA, Nagaland Against CAA, CAA open door to illegal immigrants and NRC open exit to legal citizens, We stand united against CAA, No more illegal immigrants, Save democracy listen to the voice of the people, etc.
