Kohima, April 05 (NEx): Assam Rifles patrol intercepted Mr Ram Kumar, an employee of Quippo Oil at Lungwa in Nagaland, on Monday, April 5th, 2021, while crossing India-Myanmar border after three months of being abducted. He is the 2nd employee of Quippo Oil kidnapped by ULFA (I) on December 21st, 2020, SpearCorps informed.
Ram Kumar, a resident of Bihar was released on Myanmar side of Lungwa village after 108 days & further intercepted by Assam Rifles border domination patrol at Lungwa village in Mon District of Nagaland today.
Meanwhile the Patriotic People’s Front Assam (PPFA) on Sunday demanded immediate release of Ram Kumar, while expressing relief at the release of Assamese engineer Pranab Kumar Gogoi after three months of abduction.
According to Gogoi, he and Ram Kumar from Bihar were separated on March 4th, 2021, the same day, both the employees of Haryana based Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited were expected to be released after obligatory negotiations with the company.
They were kidnapped together from Dayun Khumsai drilling area of Arunachal Pradesh for ransoms on December 21st, 2020 by a group of armed militants, a release from the PPFA said.
The SpearCorps also informed today that, Kumar has been handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Police at Tizit.
Earlier, Mr Pranab Kumar Gogoi, a resident of Assam was also intercepted by the Jairampur Battalion of Assam Rifles, while crossing India Myanmar Border into India on April 1st, 2021.
