Our Bureau,

Dimapur/Kohima, January 6 (NE): It was not a usual day since morning of January Six with vehicles coming from every district of Nagaland after holidays to head to various districts for work or other appointments.

Dimapur along with other districts of Nagaland was under a spell of drizzling or rain everywhere. Yet, it was a warm day, almost like starting of a spring season with very pleasant atmosphere except for the roads in entire district of Dimapur today. There was no space to move, taking more than an hour from Fourth Mile to reach main Dimapur City. By evening, no passenger autos were available to ply for various destinations due to heavy traffic jams.

It was also a hay day for Dimapur Police, particularly the Traffic Police maintaining the streets to ensure proper plying of vehicles. The map based mobile apps showed heavy traffic in most of the Dimapur roads. At the same time, prices of auto fares and others shoot up taking advantage of the current situation. This has been the stories from many other cities too.

Later, at night the traffic was controlled in the National Highway.
