Kohima, April 22 (NE): Nagaland State in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic, is setting up its first Covid-19 sample testing unit- BSL-3 Lab at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima.
Taking to twitter to update on the work progress, Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said, ‘The installation work for BSL-3 Lab at NHAK is in full progress. Lab technicians engaged in the work are working tirelessly for its early completion.’
Further, Pangnyu assured the people of the State that the Testing Laboratory will be operational at the earliest.

The total consignment of 18 tons with highly sophisticated equipments needed for BSL-3 to be established at NHAK, Kohima had reached Nagaland from Mumbai by a special flight of IAF C-17 globemaster on April 16, 2020. Along with equipments, the technical team was also reached to set up the lab.
Second Bio Safety laboratory, BSL-2 lab will be setting up at Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Dimapur, for testing suspected Covid19 samples, as informed by the Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare, GoN, Menukhol John, on April 07, 2020.
