Kohima, March 31 (NEx): H. Chuba Chang, People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) Consensus Candidate, who filed the nomination for the by-elections to 51 Noksen Assembly Constituency under Tuensang district on Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) ticket turns out to be the lone Candidate.
The NDPP spokesperson confirming the news to Nagalandexpress said that, with the nominations closing on March 30th, 2021, Chang is an uncontested candidate for the by-elections to 51 Noksen A/C. While, the scrutiny is yet to take place, the party is hopeful for the positive outcome of the by-election in Noksen A/C.
The NPCC and NPF did not field any candidate for the by-election. The NPCC in a press release said it did not field any candidate for the by-election to 51 Noksen Assembly Constituency, due to an earlier bitter experience during the by-election to the 60 Kiphire-Pungro assembly constituency last November.
According to the Election Commission of India notification, the last date to file the nomination for by-election to 51-Noksen (ST) Assembly Constituency was March 30, 2021. Meanwhile, the date for scrutiny of the nomination is March 31, 2021 and the last date to withdraw the nomination is April 03, 2021.
The 51-Noksen (ST) Assembly Constituency seat under Tuensang district in Nagaland was vacant since October 12, 2020, following the demise of former Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change and Justice & Law CM Chang.
