Govt of Nagaland restricts movement on the International border between India and Myanmar

Kohima, February 15 (NE): The Government of Nagaland, Office of the deputy commissioner Mon, Nagaland on February 14, 2020 issued an order to restrict movement of people across international border due to the outbreak of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19).

The order from the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Shri Thavaseelan K, said that, in view of the reported outbreak of COVID-19 in China and other countries and on declaration of the same as Public Health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and as per the directives of the state government the movement of people crossing the International border between India and Myanmar is strictly prohibited with effect from the date of this order (February 14, 2020).

It also stated that, this is necessitated in the interest of Public Health and safety. This order will remain active until further notice, it added.
