Kohima, March 06 (NEx): The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) informed that a Generator alongwith paints and property worth approximately ₹8 Lakhs were gutted down by fire at Lerie Colony, Kohima today.
The R.O (E) (F&ES) Kenny Khing informed that on receiving a Fire call at 09:35 am on March 6th, 2021 at Lerie Colony, Kohima, the Fire & Emergency Services team from Fire Station Kohima (South) proceeded to control the fire.
Accordingly, two Fire Tenders along with sufficient equipments & Fire Personnel were pressed into action.
A generator alongwith paints and property worth approximately ₹8 Lakhs was lost in the inferno but due to timely information and response, the fire was controlled and property worth ₹3 Crore could be salvaged, Khing said.
The cause of fire is suspected to be from electrical short circuit due to Lightning and there was no casualty. The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Keyirangsobe, the R.O said.
