Kohima, June 18 (NE): The Peraciezie Youth Organization (PYO) issued a clarification regarding the viral video going around in different social media with a caption that a painter has been tested positive for COVID-19 at Peraciezie colony.
PYO said that, as per reliable sources, a BRO personnel has been tested positive for COVID-19 at COVID Hospital, Kohima and the personnel was quarantined in the quarantine centre located within 15 BRTF camp (Peraciezie) for 7-8 days prior to detection which necessitated Peraciezie Youth Organization to
urgently sensitize and urge the people to take precautionary measures, since the 15 BRTF camp is located adjacent to the market area.
On the wake of this, Peraciezie Youth Organization made an announcement on June 17, 2020 at around 01:30 pm, that a person who was undergoing quarantine near Peraciezie market area, has been detected COVID-19 positive and advised the people to be extra careful and follow all the precautionary measures and other SOPs issued to prevent the spread of the outbreak.
However, a video of the said announcement was widely circulated on social media wherein the initial part of the announcement has been omitted/edited. A false caption that one painter/person has tested COVID-19 positive at ‘Peraciezie’ Colony was also attached to the video, it said.
PYO stated that it has not authorized any individual or group to record the announcement or circulate the video and false information on any social media platform. Neither the video nor the false caption/information that one painter/person has tested positive in Peraciezie Colony was circulated by PYO.

The Kohima District Task Force, CMO Office and BRTF are ensuring that all necessary precautionary measures are being taken and that all SOPs are strictly being followed at 15 BRTF Camp. Peraciezie Youth Organization has full confidence in their sincere efforts, it added.
PYO and residents of Peraciezie Colony are of the view that the video
and false caption/information was circulated on social media platforms with malicious intent to malign the image of Peraciezie Colony and to create panic among the people.
