Extended one-time financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for the stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the state, registration started, to close on May 26

Kohima, May 23 (NE): The online application portal for one-time financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to stranded citizens of Nagaland outside the state is open today.

Citizens of Nagaland stranded in other states in India, who opts to stay back where they are at present can register for this one-time assistance. The online application form is open for a period of three days from this morning to May 26, 2020, 10:00 am.

Earlier, this one-time assistance was opened only for the returnees form applicants who opt to stay back where they are. A notification from Nagaland Chief Minister’s office on Friday, May 22, 2020 informed on the extension of one time financial assistance to all the stranded citizens of Nagaland.

Documents required for application:

*One document issued by the Government of Nagaland in the Applicants Name (e.g. Birth Certificate, PRC, ST, Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate etc.)

*Bank Passbook or Bank Statement cleary indicating the Name of Account Holder and Account Number.

*One ID Card issued by the Government of India in the Applicants Name.

Additional Documents Required:-

For Students – ID card issued by the Institution.

For Patients – Any Medical Document issued by the Hospital where treatment is being undertaken.

Important Terms & Conditions for the applicants:

*This Assistance is only for the Stranded Citizens of Nagaland in other States of the Country who opt to stay back where they are presently.

*Citizens who have already availed the earlier benefit of Rs. 10,000/- One Time Assistance, are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

*Fraudulent practices to avail this assistance will be strictly dealt under applicable sections of Indian Penal Code & Disaster Management Act, 2005.

*Applications submitted with Information or documents which are incorrect /unclear /misleading will be summarily rejected.

*No claims for withdrawal or corrections will be entertained over email / phone once application has been submitted.

*The Government of Nagaland is authorized to publish details (excluding Confidential Information) of Beneficiaries in the public domain.

*The applicant agrees to remain in their present location till lockdown is completely lifted in the State of Nagaland.

Only citizens of Nagaland stranded outside the state can register to avail this one-time assistance through the official website for stranded citizens, iamstranded.nagaland.gov.in.

It was reported that 4095 returnee form applicants were registered for this one-time assistance between May 13 and May 16, 2020.

As on Friday, May 22, 3086 persons have been paid Rs 10,000 each, amounting to Rs 3.8 crore in total, said Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, IAS while briefing on COVID-19 status in the state.
