DC Kohima Orders Closure Of All Hostels: Warns violators

Kohima, May 04 (NEx): The Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Task Force, Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has ordered the closure of all Hostels in the district on April 29th, 2021. However, it was brought to the notice that some hostels are still operating despite the order.

Therefore, the DC has warned any person found violating the order to be penalised as per the provision of the Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 beside legal action under Section 188 of the IPC and instructed all concerned to comply with immediate effect.

Also, the DC, in view of the rapid surge in the number of persons infected by COVID-19, and with a view to curtail the transmission of the disease, has imposed night curfew in Kohima District on all days starting wednesday, May 5th, 2021 from 7 PM to 6 AM till further notice. This was decided in a meeting of the District task force on Tuesday, May 4th, 2021.
